2 Sisters Food Group rises to 8th in top 100 private companies

2 Sisters Food Group achieved a ranking of 8th out of the top 100 private companies in the UK, according to The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 annual survey, published last weekend.

The newspaper’s annual poll ranks each companies by sales, and 2 Sisters’ increase to £3.4bn means the company has risen in the rank by six places from last year after growing sales by 16% to £3.4bn. Under founder and CEO Ranjit Boparan, the company restructured in 2014 and refinanced £800m of its debt.

Farmfoods, a new entrant on the table at No 73, was the fastest growing of the West Midlands companies, with sales growth of 16% to £796m. The firm comprises a chain of 320 frozen food stores, with plans to rollout more stores in the south of England to capitalise on the growth of the discount sector.
