Angus burgers at McDonald’s off the menu

As US beef prices hit record highs, McDonald’s has removed its premium Angus burgers from its menus.

A consultant to McDonald’s, Richard Adams is reported to have told Associated Press: “When you can get four or five burgers off the Dollar Menu, nobody’s going to buy the Angus burger. The Dollar Menu has become a real problem for these chains.”

The wholesale beef market report from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) last week indicated that beef carcases had risen to a record high of $204.91 per hundredweight.
