British turkey feeds the nation’s veterans

This Christmas, British Turkey has teamed up with UK charity Help for Heroes to help make it an extra special one by providing quality British turkeys to recovery centres across the UK, which support those who have suffered life changing injuries.

Help for Heroes provides direct, practical support to serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces. The recovery centres help to develop life skills and activities for the wounded, injured, & sick. British Turkey will be providing tasty whole turkeys and crowns to four recovery centres – Tedworth House, Colchester, Catterick and Plymouth.

The centres will be laying on a Christmas feast for their personnel with a delicious British turkey as the centrepiece. Paul Kelly, chairman of the British Turkey Federation said “We are delighted to be supporting such a great charity as Help for Heroes, and we hope that our contribution can go a long way to make this a special Christmas for all involved at the recovery centres.”

David Richmond, CBE, Help for Heroes Defence recovery officer said: “Help for Heroes are delighted that the British Turkey Federation has chosen generously to donate turkeys to the four UK wide recovery centres that Help for Heroes fund and manage, this Christmas season. Their fabulous donation embodies the spirit of thousands of people across the UK who have joined together and created the Help for Heroes phenomenon. I have no doubt that there will be smiles on the faces of all our residents, when they tuck into this festive feast!”
