British Turkey roadshows aim to inspire new generation of children

British Turkey has teamed up with The Kids Cookery School to get the nation’s children cooking and eating healthy food this summer through a series of cooking roadshows.

The sessions will involve children aged between three and 11 to create and cook healthier and more nutritious meals. By creating meals such as mini turkey pizzas using quality British turkey, the roadshow demonstrates that food can be quick and easy to create.

Television chef Phil Vickery attended the launch at Norbury school and encouraged children to get cooking. Alongside him was food and blogger Filipa Kay of Gourmetmum.tv and Fiona Hamilton-Fairley of the Kids Cookery School.

The roadshow will be visiting primary schools in five other destinations around the country to help educate young children about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet.

Paul Kelly, chair of the British Turkey Federation said: “Obesity in the UK is on the increase so we are delighted to be working with the Kids Cookery School to educate children more on healthy eating.”
