Staff at G. N. Badley & Sons, in Trench, can use the online application to track the goods coming into the shop and trace the origins of the beef they sell.

Managing director Simon Badley said: “We have had huge success with the launch of our website and online ordering system since it began in 2012 and it just prompted us to think how else we could use the internet to improve our business.

“An app for a butchers is not something you usually think of but we love the fact that this is a bit different.

“It is environmentally friendly because it does away with a lot of paperwork and also it means we can easily answer customers’ questions quickly when they ask about where their meat comes from or when a product will be in stock.

“In this increasingly fast-moving society small family businesses need to keep up and offer what will best suit the customers’ needs.”

The app has been developed in association with Telford based Midland Computers.
