Butchery masterclass to be held for charity

Daniel Turnbull, a young Alnwick butcher, is to host ‘An Evening with Butcher Dan’ later this month to help raise funds for Scope, the UK charity that supports disabled people.

Turnbull will demonstrate how to select and prepare popular beef, lamb, pork and chicken cuts, sold at the family run Turnbull’s Butchers where he works.

Alongside fellow Turnbull butchers, he will also cook up his creations and pass on cooking hints and recipe tips to visitors.

The event is being staged opposite Turnbull’s Market Street shop in the Northumberland Hall, on 26th March at 7pm. 100% of the ticket sales will go to Turnbull’s chosen charity.

As well as preparing for his masterclass, Turnbull is also currently training for this year’s Ironman UK..

Daniel Turnbull’s dad, Mark Turnbull, who runs Turnbull’s Butchers and was recently elected national chairman of the Butchers Q Guild, said: “Daniel is really up for it – both the butchery masterclass and the Iron Man Triathlon – and we’re supporting him all the way. We hope our customers will consider doing likewise.”
