Calling all golfers for BDCI charity event

The Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution (BDCI) is calling for golfers to help to raise funds for the charity by signing up to participate in its golf day, to be held at Surrey Downs Golf Club in Kingswood in Surrey on 14th September.

The event is priced at £100 per person, or £350 for a team of four. Companies are also invited to sponsor a hole for £250.

BDCI golf day

The BDCI golf day is to be held on Wednesday 14th September.

Playing Stapleford rules, the maximum handicap this year will be 24 in four balls. Registration will begin at 8.00am, with tee off at 9.00am. Eighteen holes of golf will then be followed by a three course meal and prize-giving ceremony.

Prizes will be given for ‘Nearest the Pin’, ‘Longest Drive’, ‘Best Score of the Day’ and ‘Best Team’. There will also be a ‘Beat The Professional’ competition.

Places for the golf day can be reserved by completing the online booking form on the BDCI website www.bdci.org.uk, or by contacting Alan Bird on 0207-236 1552 or by e-mail on alan@twocountiesfoods.co.uk.

Anyone wishing to sponsor a hole or donate a prize or auction item should also contact Alan Bird.

The BDCI is the meat industry’s own trade charity and exists to provide support for those who work, or have previously worked, in the meat industry who have fallen on hard times.
