His length of service is testament to the skill he brought to the role, not only appreciated by IMTA but also European association, the UECBV. Many throughout the industry have valued the immense knowledge he brought, all with a great sense of humility.

Following Brydges’s retirement, IMTA is now considering the future. Margaret Boanas has been elected chairman for the coming year. Boanas, who works for Transoceanic Meat Company, has been a director of IMTA for nearly 29 years and a vice-president for many years.

The directors on the Board will take on a more active role in the interests of the international importing and exporting sector as a whole. IMTA has also looked to involve its associate members more directly (clearing agents, cold storage operators etc) by inviting these representatives onto the Board.
