Etherington Meats invests in commercial kitchen

Etherington Meats has invested £20,000 in a new industrial kitchen at its headquarters in Cornwall.

The installation means further expansion of the business resulting in new jobs for local people.

The state-of-the-art commercial kitchen features a Rationale Cooking Centre which is an intelligent cooking systems with five senses allowing for more productivity, control and what Etherington believes is the best environmental health management.

Etherington Meats, managing director, Mark Etherington is enthusiastic about what the new kitchen will add to the business.

Etherington Meats kitchen was opened by Malcolm Ball and Brian Edgeler from the Commercial Food & Safety Dept. Cornwall Council. Etherington says the team have been a great support to the building project, offering expert advice to ensure the kitchen was of the best quality and commercial viability.

Malcolm Ball, Cornwall Council Commercial Food and Safety officer said: “We were happy to work with Etherington Farm Shop from the inception of the idea to the new plant and wish them good luck with their new production facility.”

Mark Etherington, managing director said: “It is exciting to see the new kitchen in production making new products that we are adding to our wholesale and retail shelves including BBQ pulled pork. We are also able to step up production of our Taste of the West Gold awarded Wheal Rose hogs pudding.”

He continued: “We are committed to investing heavily in expanding our business and increasing production to meet demand. This will result in more jobs for local people and a greater investment into our wider local economy.”
