HCC supports British Lamb Week

Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) has organised a number of promotional activities to coincide with British Lamb Week, running from 1st to 7th September.

Gwyn Howells, chief executive of HCC believes a unified approach will enhance British Lamb Week’s impact and effectiveness and strengthen the key messages.

Action will include a mobile billboard, designed to raise awareness of the Welsh Lamb brand, a ready-prepared letter for downloading and sending to supermarkets to voice concerns about the lack of Welsh Lamb on shop shelves, and the involvement of retailers across England and Wales supporting the campaign.

Social media will also be used to promote British Lamb Week and Welsh Lamb, using the hashtags #BritishLambWeek and #LoveWelshLamb.

Gwyn Howells, chief executive of HCC said: “We are pleased to support British Lamb Week and have launched a number of activities to run in parallel with the campaign. A unified approach will enhance its impact and effectiveness, and strengthen the key messages.

“These include the importance of supporting local farmers and the quality of home produced lamb, including Welsh Lamb.”
