Miss Scotland ‘Chillaxes’ to launch Scotch Butchers Club ‘Comfort Food’ campaign

Miss Scotland 2014, Ellie McKeating, was more than willing to take some time out of her hectic schedule this week to ‘chillax’ and launch a new ‘Comfort Food’ campaign from Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).

Relaxing in huge ‘50s style pink rollers, Miss McKeating – who will be attending Miss World in London and Dressed to Kilt in New York in the coming weeks – rustled up a selection of “Comfort Food” dishes containing Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specially Selected Pork.

The campaign will see Scotch Butchers Club members offering their customers a range of tasty, hearty recipes created to inspire consumers as winter approaches and the days turn chillier and darker.

Traditional favourites like mince and tatties and shepherd’s pie are included along with more contemporary dishes such as fragrant lamb stew with a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds and a spicy lamb and tomato curry with warming ginger and cumin.

Butchers who are members of the Scotch Butchers Club member source their Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork from suppliers who adhere to QMS’s Quality Assurance Scheme. Shoppers can find their nearest outlet by visiting www.scotchbutchersclub.org
