New networking forum for women in the meat industry

A new networking group for women operating across the supply chain in the meat industry has been proposed as a joint venture between Meat Management editor, Pam Brook and EBLEX marketing manager (Quality Schemes), Laura Ryan.

Pam Brook said: “Over the twenty two years I’ve spent working in the meat industry I am always struck by the healthy number of females within our sector but how few I actually come into meaningful contact with.

“I believe our industry could benefit from a networking group for women operating across the supply chain (i.e. from abattoir to point of sale) and as such I’m keen to establish an opportunity for us all to engage with one another.”

The group would proactively look to widen their relationships with other links in the supply chain with objectives to nurture new female entrants in the sector, assist in making the industry attractive to female talent and professionally improve networking.

The forum would meet a few of times a year for an informal dinner, networking and a relevant speaker.  There would be no membership fee and delegates would pay for each event as and when it happened, making the initiative self-funding.

Those interested in participating should complete this short survey here and can also forward details on to colleagues.
