Over £8,000 raised at BDCI Golf Day
The BDCI’s annual Golf Day supported by 85 golfers raised over £8,000 for the charity.

Festival chairman, Norman Hatcliff, said: “My thanks go to all our sponsors and those who donated auction prizes and especially to everyone who made the effort to come along and support the BDCI Golf Day.
“Special thanks go to Alan Bird from Two Counties Foods for organising the whole event and to the Cheale family for allowing us to use the course for the day. Thanks also to Ken Pritchard the auctioneer and Jim Dodge the course photographer for the day.
“The BDCI is an excellent charity and a great deal of work goes on behind the scenes with around £250,000 being distributed to people connected with the meat trade who have fallen on hard times; in many cases this goes towards the cost of life-changing equipment such as a computer or mobility assistance aids, or it is put towards nursing home costs.”
Norman added: “Next up we have the biggest fundraising event in the BDCI calendar, the Annual Festival Dinner, which takes place on Friday 31st October. The highlight of the year and a great night out, the Festival Dinner will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Tickets are selling fast, so make sure you don’t miss out and book yours now!”

The date for next year’s BDCI Golf Day is Wednesday 16th September 2015 at Surrey Downs Golf Club, Kingswood, Surrey.
