Prys Morgan appointed HCC’s Head of Operations
Prys Morgan has been appointed the new head of operations with Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales.
Mr Morgan is a well known figure in the red meat industry and has extensive experience in all areas of the business.
He was most recently employed as the Livestock Procurement Controller with 2 Sisters Red Meat Limited. Mr Morgan was responsible for the day-to-day procurement of cattle and sheep for the St Merryn business in Merthyr, Bodmin and McIntosh Donald of Aberdeen.

Mr Morgan also worked for Vion, who were taken over by 2 Sisters in 2013, as their Sheep Procurement Controller. He has also previously worked for the Meat and Livestock Commission, the Farm Business Survey Unit at Aberystwyth University and ADAS.
He returns to HCC after having previously worked as Industry Development Manager for the organisation between 2003 and 2008.

“This is a pivotal time for the red meat industry, with changes to the Common Agricultural Policy coming into force and announcements about the new Rural Development Plan for Wales imminent,” he said. “I am eager to ensure that HCC works with all its partners in the industry to ensure that the Welsh red meat sector continues to thrive.”
As HCC’s head of operations, Mr Morgan will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the organisations strategic aims across the Industry Development, Market Development and Communications platforms.
Mr Morgan lives in Machynlleth and is currently a member of HCC’s Board. He will relinquish this position when he takes up his new appointment as head of operations on March 30th.
