Pulled pork is thrust of new BPEX campaign

BPEX is launching a new pork promotion campaign in the spring and details of what is happening will be outlined at Regional Producer events.

There will be an update on the new BPEX marketing strategy and team plus details of the 2015 campaign which aims to start rejuvenating the image of pork among younger consumers.

BPEX head of marketing Kirsty Walker said: “Consumer research has shown us that pulled pork is a dish consumers are keen to know more about and it also utilises shoulder, one of the less popular cuts.”

On the technical side, the conferences will look at how to optimise the amount of pig meat sold per square metre. The programme will highlight key areas for focus, from insemination through to sale.
