Red Tractor seeks to appoint new chairman

Assured Food Standards (AFS), the company that operates the Red Tractor scheme, is recruiting for a new chairman to replace David Gregory who will be standing down later this year having completed the maximum six years’ service allowed.

Interested candidates will preferably have Board level experience in the food supply chain, independent of any current vested interest in a particular sector.

Meurig Raymond, president of the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), said: “The chairmanship of AFS is a key role.”

Andrew Opie, policy director of the British Retail Consortium (BRC), paid tribute to Gregory: “Under David’s inspirational leadership Red Tractor has firmly consolidated its reputation as a trusted standard for quality, conscientiously produced food and drink amongst retailers and consumers alike. Its continued growth in the last few years has been impressive.”
