Laura Ryan to leave AHDB Beef & Lamb

Laura Ryan to leave AHDB Beef & Lamb

AHDB strategy director for beef and lamb, Laura Ryan, is leaving her position after more than 10 years with the organisation.

Ryan is moving on to take up the position of senior lecturer in enterprise and marketing in the business school of a university near her hometown of Darlington.

Laura Ryan is leaving AHDB.

Ryan joined AHDB Beef & Lamb (formerly EBLEX) in 2007 after launching premium beef and lamb brands within a butchery business in the North East of England.

She began her career with AHDB as a marketing executive, before being promoted to marketing manager (quality schemes) and then head of strategic marketing. In her role, Ryan was responsible for the development and delivery of AHDB’s Quality Standard Mark scheme for beef and lamb.

Ryan said: “I’ve really enjoyed working for AHDB and taken great pride in everything we’ve achieved. However, I’m keen to take my career in a different direction by becoming a senior lecturer in marketing and this is a great opportunity for me to do so, closer to home in the north east.”

Tom Hind, AHDB chief strategy officer, said: “Laura has always been highly respected in every aspect of her work and has been at the centre of the creation and delivery of our new strategy. I am sure that the more positive attitude of many in the industry towards AHDB is due in large part to Laura’s positive and competent hard work.

“While we’re sorry to see her leave, we wish her every success in her new role. She has obvious passion and skill for these topics and this career move clearly provides a great balance of opportunity and challenge.”

AHDB is still finalising Ryan’s finish date, but has stated it hopes the process for finding her replacement will be well underway before then.
