Women in Meat Industry Awards Terms & Conditions

The Year 2024 Women in Meat Industry Awards will run from June 2024 until December 2024.

  1. The Industry Awards presentation ceremony will normally take place in November 2024, but dates and the nature of presentations can be varied by the organiser at its absolute discretion if circumstances dictate that change is required to a more suitable time, or if a different format to previous years is required.

  13. The Rising Star Award
  1. Yandell Publishing Ltd., the organiser of the Women in Meat Industry Awards will offer category partnerships to companies and organisations servicing the meat and food industry at a price deemed to be fair and reasonable by the organisers. Further new categories can be added at any time at the discretion of the organisers.
  2. Payment for category partnership will be due by 1st May 2024 at the latest, or if booked after 1st May 2024, not later than 28 days from the date of formally confirming the category partnership with Yandell Publishing Ltd.
  3. Cancellation: Category partners and sponsors should note that cancellation charges will apply on all occasions and in any circumstances for cancellation of category partnerships, or for any sponsorships. A full 100% non-refundable charge of the agreed category partnership or sponsorship total will be payable to Yandell Publishing Ltd., unless cancellation notification is received by Yandell Publishing Ltd., in writing within 14 calendar days from the date of the category partnership email confirmation and contract, which is sent to the partner or sponsor following agreement to the booking.
  4. Category partners for the Year 2024 Awards will get first refusal for partnering the same category again in 2025. However the organiser reserves the right to vary terms and costs. The deadline for partner decisions for the Year 2025 Awards will be 14th December 2024. After this date the category will be offered to the open market on a first come first served basis.
  5. Nomination and voting forms for the Women in Meat Industry Awards will be available to the meat and food industry through Meat Management magazine’s official website for the awards: www.womeninmeatawards.com. Nominees must have their normal place of work located and based in the British Isles (including Ireland).
  6. The final deadline for nominations in relation to the Year 2024 Awards will normally be July 2024, although this date can be changed at the discretion of the organiser. Votes will then be accepted for the shortlisted entries which will be published on www.womeninmeatawards.com until late August or early September, or a suitable deadline date to be decided. However the organiser may vary all dates at its full discretion.
  7. The overall winner of the Meat Businesswoman of the Year will be decided by a judging panel, normally in October 2024, and will be decided from the winners of the other award categories (excluding The Rising Star winner category which is not included in this shortlist). This result will only be announced at the Awards Ceremony.
  8. Should any category winner not be in a position to attend or participate in the Awards Presentation Ceremony, or fail to formally confirm that they will accept the award by the deadline given; the Publisher of Meat Management magazine has, at his absolute discretion, the right to rescind the Award and pass it on to the first runner up / finalist in the category concerned. Information provided by Meat Management magazine to award winners and finalists in advance of the Awards Ceremony is Strictly Private & Confidential and may not be divulged to any third party prior to the award being presented. Any breach of this confidentiality may result in the award being rescinded at the absolute discretion of the Publisher.
  9. On the basis that the Award Ceremony is staged as a physical in-person event, the Award partners will receive free tickets up to a maximum of 10 persons for attending the awards Ceremony and must attend the Ceremony to present the award for the category agreed. The Awards partner accepts this obligation when contracting to the Awards and accepts that in the event of non-attendance, no credit or refund will be made by Meat Management magazine or Yandell Publishing Ltd., as a result of such non-attendance.
  10. The organisers expressly reserve the right to change the nature and style of the Awards Ceremony and to present the Awards Ceremony online as a virtual event should it be required in the sole and exclusive opinion of the organiser.
  11. In the event of a communicable disease including a viral infection or pandemic and / or any resultant official warning or instructions to prevent the assembly of people at a given place or at a given time, or any restrictions following any recommendation or legislation by the World Health Organisation or the UK Government that public events may not be staged or can proceed, the organisers are not responsible for any consequential loss should its own event or events or exhibitions be affected, postponed or cancelled, and the organiser will not refund deposits and / or any other payments or deposits either paid, accrued, pending or which are due for payment, or contracted to be paid at a future date. Customers of the organiser who are partners, sponsors, advertisers and / or exhibitors, should ensure that their own event insurance adequately covers them for such eventualities or circumstances, as the organiser will not be found liable for repayments or damages or any consequential loss in such prevailing circumstances.
  12. As part of this agreement, the sponsor or partner of the event, authorise Yandell Media Group and Yandell Publishing Ltd., and its subsidiary companies or trading divisions to hold its company or personal information on database and, as required, to share personal or company information with third-party organisations such as the printer of catalogues or menus, publications promoting the event or events, website designers, internet providers, mailing houses, awards venues, IT and AV providers and any other professional companies that Yandell Media Group / Yandell Publishing Ltd., or its subsidiaries and trading divisions deem it necessary to work with in the course of normal business.   13. The organisers of the Awards Ceremony reserve the absolute right to refuse admission to the Ceremony or any dinner or lunch that may be organised without explanation. Correspondence will not be entered into. Competitive media of any type to Meat Management magazine or its portfolio of publications and media products are not permitted to attend the Awards Ceremony.
  14. The details of the category winners will not be announced until the Awards ceremony. The winners of the Awards are required to maintain the Private & Confidential status of the Awards which may be required until after the formal presentations. Finalists for the Awards ceremony will be announced and publicised in advance.
  15. An Awards review confirming the winners of the Year 2024 Awards will be published and circulated within the December 2024 edition of Meat Management magazine although the organiser or publisher reserves the right to publish the Awards review in any edition felt to be appropriate as an alternative. This magazine will also detail the category partners. Advertising opportunities will be made available to both winners (on a strictly private & confidential basis) and Award partners, or any business or organisations, who in the opinion of the publisher, is suitable for inclusion in this publication. All advertising bookings are subject to the normal terms and conditions of acceptance for advertising bookings for Meat Management magazine.   16. Please note that photographs and videos will be taken by the organiser at all Yandell events for publicity and social media purposes which may be used either during the event or over the post-event period. By attending any event, consent to use any images of attendees for promotional purposes by Yandell Media Group is implied. Such promotional use may include magazines, promotion literature, advertising, galleries, video coverage, social media, websites and poster artwork, and any other medium deemed appropriate by the organisers. Note: you are able to contact Yandell Media Group, Yandell Publishing Ltd., or YPL Exhibitions & Events in writing to withdraw your consent at any time.
  17. All special guests, presenters and performers appear subject to professional work commitments and the line-up is subject to change without notice. No refunds will be given if the advertised line-up changes or does not appear.
  18. Voting or nomination for the Year 2024 Women in Meat Industry Awards is not open to employees of Meat Management Magazine or their families or to employees of Yandell Publishing Limited, or their families.
  19. Voting or nominations can only be undertaken by bona-fide meat industry or food industry professionals or customers and suppliers of those who are shortlisted for category voting. Voting opportunities will not be offered on a generic basis to companies and trade businesses or organisations. Only one vote per person will be accepted.
  20. If for any reason the Publisher of Meat Management magazine has reason to believe that any form of ‘vote rigging’ or manipulation of voting is being attempted, the Publisher has the absolute right, at his discretion, to disqualify the votes in question.
  21. 24. Details of all votes and voters and those who nominate candidates will be kept private & confidential and names and addresses of voters or how they voted will not be disclosed for any reason. The voting procedure and nomination process is subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulations.
  22. In the event of a tie in respect of reader voting, or the votes of any judging panel, a casting vote will reside with the Publisher of Meat Management magazine.
  23. The organisers reserve the right without prior notice to revise or change the date of the Awards Ceremony and any Awards Lunch or Dinner, the location of the Awards Ceremony and any Awards Lunch or Dinner, and the nature and format of the event at any time, at their full discretion. In such circumstances the organisers will inform the Partner or Sponsor or any Participants in writing of any changes that the organisers believe to be appropriate to facilitate the successful conclusion of the Awards or promotional programme. If the organiser gives such notice to the Partner or Sponsor or Participant, the Organiser shall be entitled to retain all monies paid to the organiser prior to service of such notice and to seek immediate payment of all monies due to the organiser from the Partner or Sponsor or Participant.
  24. Dinner tickets when made available are sold on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. Cancellations are subject to an administration fee of 35 per cent of the total cost and, for physical events where tickets are sold, refunds are not available should bookings be cancelled after 1st September 2024.
  25. Tickets purchased, or provided free as part of a Partnership package, must not be re-sold to any third party in any circumstances. Partners do have the opportunity to purchase additional ceremony / dinner tickets or tables at the normal cost as detailed on the official event website in addition to the free allocation of 10 tickets which is provided as part of the standard package.
  26. In relation to all rules and regulations covering the Year 2024 Awards and the Awards ceremony, the organiser and Publisher’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  27. 2025 Ceremony and Promotion: The pending and updated terms and conditions for the year 2025 will be published shortly after the 2024 ceremony takes place.
