Graham Yandell MBE, the publisher of Meat Management magazine, who created and stage the annual event, was very enthusiastic and commented: “I must say that some of our nominations this year are particularly outstanding and have a really good story to tell. It is so rewarding to see nominations coming through for talented individuals who deserve recognition and have done so much for their individual businesses and for the industry in general.

“The Women In Meat Industry Awards is a unique stand-alone project exclusively provided by the main industry media that creates a high profile all about women who contribute in so many ways to different parts of the industry. Many are brilliant role models, some have overcome particular problems, others have been an important catalyst in making sure a business not only survives but thrives because of the contribution or leadership that individual has made.

“These awards are totally unique in recognising talent and success across the key industry sectors and in revealing what has and is being achieved. It certainly smashes through any traditional stereotypical beliefs that the meat industry is all about men. It clearly is not. The Women In Meat Industry Awards also profile brilliant role models that we can all be proud of.

“It’s good to see so many leading companies large and small who are gender aware participating in the nomination process or partnering the initiative, and also attending the ceremony where winners and finalists are recognised.”

The nomination process for 2023 is now closed and details about the candidates for this year will go online soon for voting. If you would like to vote this year click here to receive an email notification when the process begins.
