Brookfield Farm wins Great Taste Award for its veal

Dorset’s high welfare brand Brookfield Farm has received the Great Taste Award 2013 for its veal escalopes and osso bucco. Both products were awarded a gold star in the world’s largest and most rigorous food awards scheme, involving over 400 judges and thousands of hours of blind tasting.

Ben Bayer, principal founder of Brookfield Farm said: “We are delighted to win a Great Taste Award for not just one, but two of our products. We’ve been working incredibly hard to put high welfare English veal back onto the dining table since the brand’s launch in 2011. Being able to promote the recognisable Great Taste logo supports our efforts by showing consumers that veal is an exceptionally flavoursome and versatile meat.”

All of Brookfield Farm’s veal is fresh from farms in the West Country, which have all been Freedom Food/RSPCA approved, ensuring the veal calves are reared to the strictest welfare standards with regular audits.

Brookfield Farm is now heavily promoting veal’s nutritional benefits. Lean veal has a high protein and low fat content which is comparable to chicken.
