EBLEX hits the road

EBLEX has gone mobile with a new branded cookery and butchery demonstration unit.

Custom-built for EBLEX with interchangeable internal cladding, the unit is completely self-contained and can be used at shows or events for sampling and demonstrations – or even as a portable test kitchen.

One end of the unit is devoted to butchery and was designed by EBLEX’s business development manager, Dick van Leeuwen. The other end, designed by Hugh Judd, foodservice project manager for EBLEX, is equipped for various types of cooking and features a range of cooking equipment including a water bath for sous vide cooking and a barbeque which can also cook smoked meats. The unit also has two fridges.

Hugh said: “We are very excited to introduce our new demonstration unit; it’s kitted out with everything we need to showcase Quality Standard Mark beef and lamb to its best and can be used at all kinds of events.”

The unit is well equipped for demonstrations with video screens and a PA system on board. It was put to the test when it made its debut at the first Lamb Tour event, where it was used by Hugh and master butcher Viv Harvey, who said: “It has everything you could need on board and the mirrors and video screens are great for the audience during butchery demonstrations.”
