L-R: William and Geoffrey Buchanan.

Hemswell Coldstore, a modern facility based in Lincolnshire, houses up to 5000 pallets of frozen produce and prides itself on its green credentials. It holds an AA grade, the highest accreditation for food safety standards from the British Retail Consortium.

William Buchanan, group director at Gressingham Foods, said: "We are delighted to bring Hemswell Coldstore into The Gressingham Group. The collaboration made perfect sense, as we already have links with Hemswell through Reids of Norwich, another company within the Group.

"Having a coldstore helps streamline our distribution chain and operations. We are really looking forward to working with the team at Hemswell.”

Stephen Hill, general manager at Hemswell Coldstore, commented: “We started Hemswell Coldstore in 2011 and have since taken this from a start-up to a market leader within the sector, delivering large-scale operations within the UK and around the world.

"Selling to Gressingham Foods is a great fit for the company and I am confident that with Gressingham’s huge expertise in the industry, Hemswell will go from strength to strength. The future looks bright for our employees, customers and suppliers.”
