IoM / WCB Annual Awards moved to 2022

The Institute of Meat (IoM) and Worshipful Company of Butchers (WCB) Annual Prizegiving has been postponed until February 2022 following the ongoing impact of Covid-19.

The Awards were due to take place at Butchers Hall on Thursday 25th February, but as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, organisers of the event have made the decision to push the ceremony back until February 2022.

The initiative celebrates the achievements of trainees and apprentices in the meat industry, as well as accrediting experienced butchers with ‘Master Butcher’ status.

Chief executive of the Institute of Meat, Bill Jermey, said: “Due to the current circumstances regarding the covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty surrounding them, we have decided to postpone our annual awards to February 2022.

“Although the awards could be presented via video link, it was felt that the sense of occasion and experience of the day would be very much missed by the winners and recipients of the awards.”
