According to reports from Reuters Brazilian meat giant, JBS SA is looking to purchase the beleaguered Candian XL Foods beef plant that it took over the running of following a severe E.coli breakout.

The outbreak led to a full scale recall of meat throughout Canada and overseas. Details of the cost of the sale have not been released. JBS has been managing the plant in Alberta Canada since last October, when it underwent a long shutdown during the E.coli outbreak.
