Meat Industry Awards for 2022 in full swing

Meat Industry Awards for 2022 in full swing

Product nominations are once again exceeding expectations for the Meat Management Industry Awards this year and judges are looking forward to the cooking, tasting and product evaluations scheduled to take place at the test kitchens, located within Harper Adams University.

Product judging for the Meat Management Industry Awards 2022 will take place at Harper Adams University.

Organisers YPL Exhibitions & Events report that once again the industry response has been overwhelming, with products entered by both independent and multiple retailers, plus leading manufacturers. Product nominations can still be made and voting is also currently open online.

With around 1,000 entries expected, every product entered will be cooked (unless cold eating), presented as per the nominees instructions by the home economists team, and then tasted and evaluated by the judging panel, headed up by chief judge Keith Fisher – and that includes a full week administering the judging at the Harper Adams Regional Food Academy, in Shropshire.

Organisers will also be counting the votes and other nominations submitted by readers of Meat Management magazine and meatmanagement.com to find out who they think represent the best of the best.

Once again the black-tie Awards dinner and ceremony will be staged at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 15th September and the guest host is entertainer and ventriloquist Paul Zerdin. See story here.

Meat Management managing editor and publisher, Graham Yandell said: “I think we are in for another fantastic Awards ceremony, which is of course Britain’s biggest meat industry event. In fact, I believe we are once again reaching yet another higher level.

“The main thing now is for the industry to nominate products and I know we will be evaluating some fantastic innovations as well as traditional entries. The whole team is looking forward to the judging process and the celebration evening later in the year which promises to be a highlight of the 2022 industry calendar!”
