MEATUP 2015 confirms changes to venue

YPL Exhibitions the organisers of MEATUP, the dedicated biennial meat industry show for the UK market, has confirmed that the 2015 exhibition will return to the Stoneleigh Park exhibition centre in Warwickshire for its next presentation. The Meat Management Awards dinner will remain at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in 2015 on the first night of MEATUP, located as it is only a short drive away at the nearby NEC complex.

Show organiser Emma Cash revealed the background to the decision: “Our launch at Stoneleigh in 2011 was very successful and exceeded our expectations, since then the show has become further established. However, having conducted research, we feel that the NEC move in 2013 did not add as much to the event as we expected.

“We invested very heavily, but in real terms this meant spending money on the venue and our view now is that we would prefer to spend that money on marketing, visitor promotion and most importantly improved show content, including top quality seminars attracting top quality speakers.”

Emma continued: “We know that the Stoneleigh venue offers many benefits including free parking, easy access and lower on-costs for exhibitors. It also gives us the opportunity to invest much more in visitor marketing and show content which will also include meaningful and interesting trade competitions.”

The decision means that show dates will come forward by one day with the open days now being Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July 2015. However the organisers are confident this will not have a material effect with the event arrangements changing only marginally so far out. YPL report that all contracted exhibitors who had already committed to MEATUP 2015 have agreed to the Stoneleigh move and the new arrangements. The show will also be working with many leading meat trade bodies and organisations who have agreed to sponsor and endorse MEATUP 2015.

Show director Graham Yandell was in positive mood when commenting: “We firmly believe that the UK meat industry deserves its own dedicated show, not a mish-mash of other things which is not a meat show at all. Our job is to create a professional and business-like environment to bring the industry together. We also want it to be an enjoyable networking forum too. It’s also important not to be dogmatic when it comes to things like the venue we choose. It’s all about being flexible and providing the right environment for everyone.

“In 2015 we will be fully focussed on bringing many new improvements and innovations to MEATUP. Of course, this means more than ever that excellent show content is essential if we are to encourage visitors and buyers to make the journey, so everyone can be assured of our dedication in making MEATUP 2015 truly successful, really focussed and an event the industry can be proud of”.
