New non-exec chairman at Dunbia

Lord Brian Mawhinney has been appointed as non-executive chairman of the Group Board at Dunbia.

Lord Mawhinney had a long career as a MP during which time he held a number of senior posts including Minister of State in the Northern Ireland Office and Secretary of State for Transport. He was executive chairman of the Football League 2003 – 2010 and then the honorary president until 2013. He holds and has held a number of non executive business board positions in both the UK and USA.

Dunbia is a £720m turnover company, operating across 11 sites in the UK and Ireland and from sales offices throughout Europe, employing over 3500 people.

Jim Dobson, Dunbia Group managing director said: “Lord Mawhinney brings a range of skills to our board which will contribute to the continued growth and performance of the Group. His extensive experience as a politician and business leader will undoubtedly make him a great asset to the Dunbia Group.”
