The Q Guild is currently investigating butchers displaying its Q Guild logo fraudulently.

Gordon Newlands says the Q Guild is to "name and shame" butchers using the organisation's logo fraudulently.

The Q Guild Butchers are 110 independent butchers across the country who have obtained membership, described by the organisation as a seal of excellence.

According to the Q Guild’s manager, Gordon Newlands, six butchers without membership have been found to be displaying the logo. The Q Guild will continue to investigate before taking action.

Newlands commented: “It has been brought to our attention by members and members of the public that some butchers are displaying the Q Guild Logo fraudulently.

“We investigated and to date we have found six that are indeed displaying the Q Guild logo. The logo is a fully trademarked image and any display whilst not in membership contravenes the Trades Description Act.

“We are gathering evidence and will be contacting the businesses concerned and then their local media to name and shame them,” Newlands added. “We will also publicise that they are frauds on our social media and website. We have to protect our members and the logo and we will do so vigorously.”
