Poultry meat demand continues to drive industry forwards
Speaking at AHDB’s Outlook Conference, NFU poultry specialist Chris Dickinson said that rising demand for poultry meat would help drive the industry forwards.
He suggested that the industry was well integrated, unsubsidised and poultry enterprises dovetailed well on mixed farms. Poultry enterprises offer advantages of quick turn round and opportunity for growth.
The industry operates without the burden or benefit of a levy board and works closely with the Red Tractor organisation. Poultry producers have close links with the NFU who host the ‘Love Chicken’ website following BPEX’s lead with their ‘Love Pork’ campaign.
