The Red Tractor logo is a mark of quality assurance that shows that food or drink products have been independently inspected throughout the food chain and meet responsible standards of production as well as being traceable back to UK farms. The club chose the Red Tractor logo to show its commitment to providing its corporate hospitality clientele with good quality, traceable and sustainable food.

As provider of executive catering at the Stadium of Light, 1879 Events Management, works closely with local producers to source the region’s best ingredients and through the club’s affiliation with the Red Tractor logo, it is providing a guarantee of the origin of its meat to thousands of football fans week in, week out.

Gary Hutchinson, commercial director at SAFC said: “We are proud to have achieved Red Tractor certification, enabling us to use the Red Tractor logo on the red meat we serve to our corporate hospitality clients. The logo demonstrates our commitment to sourcing quality, Red Tractor Assured produce and provides the reassurance our customers are looking for.”

Richard Cattell, Head of Marketing at Red Tractor added: “We are thrilled that Sunderland AFC has become the latest premier league football club to gain Red Tractor certification. The Red Tractor logo gives assurances on animal welfare, environmental protection, food safety as well as origin and can be traced from independently inspected farms in the UK to, in this instance, the Stadium of Light. It’s the easiest way to identify quality, traceable food you can trust.”

To celebrate the partnership, a real red tractor supplied by global manufacturer Massey Ferguson was on show outside the Stadium of Light. Rob Dunk, National Sales Manager for Massey Ferguson UK said: “It is great to see Sunderland AFC supporting Red Tractor farmers and we’re delighted that our tractor will take pride of place in such an iconic location.”
