Underwood Meat Company puts some muscle into online food retailer

Online retailer MuscleFood has appointed East Midlands based Underwood Meat Company, one of the largest catering butchers in the UK, as a new supplier to help drive business growth.

Nick Preston, CEO of MuscleFood.

The move comes as part of a new strategy by MuscleFood to offer its customers additional value without sacrificing on the quality of products. The company believe that the new partnership will help provide an ever better experience for customers and bring restaurant and butcher shop grade quality meats to online retail customers.

Underwood Meat Company uses traditional hand cut butchery methods which MuscleFood say will drive quality and prioritise meat sourcing and provenance with all their products. In addition, an emphasis will be placed on reducing distribution timings, with a new delivery model which will lower emissions for the company. The new partnership will also see MuscleFood working to reduce the use of plastics used within its packaging.

The company specialises in offering what it describes as high protein quality lean meats at a low price for their customers, delivered straight to the front door.  Its budget food hampers focus on feeding the family for less, with lots of high quality cuts of meat which can fill the freezer for weeks.

Nick Preston, CEO of MuscleFood commented: “We are really happy to announce we are partnering with the Underwood Meat Company. We have been working to keep costs down for our customers throughout the cost of living crisis and do not ever want to compromise on taste or quality.

“Our new partnership will allow us to do just that. The Meat Company aligns with our values as a business and prioritises meat sourcing and provenance, bringing top quality butcher grade meats to our customers.

“So far, the reaction from our long-standing customers has been extremely positive. The new meats have gone down so well that demand has gone through the roof, with our new supplier reacting super-fast to scale up for ongoing and future demand, and assured quality.”
