Organisers of the annual Meat Management Meat Industry Awards have revealed Paul Sinha as this year’s celebrity host when the ceremony takes place in Birmingham on Thursday 3rd September.

Although best-known from the popular ITV quiz-show The Chase, Paul Sinha has also enjoyed a long career as an award-winning comedian.
Paul was born in the UK to Bengali parents and part of a family medical dynasty. While studying medicine himself in the 1990s, Paul took his first steps on the stand-up comedy circuit. He pursued both careers, and at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe earned a nomination for the highest accolade in live comedy, the Edinburgh Comedy Award. Shortly after his nomination, Paul hung up his stethoscope to become a full-time comedian.
Paul is also a familiar voice on radio with appearances on Radio 4’s Just A Minute and The News Quiz and on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk. His Radio 4 series Paul Sinha’s History Revision won the Rose d’Or for radio comedy. He’s also appeared on television, on BBC’s QI and Would I Lie to You? and as a competitor on Taskmaster.
A lifetime of curiosity and learning contributes to Paul’s comedy, but now also ranks him as one of the UK’s finest quizzers, which has led on to another concurrent career, this time as a general knowledge expert and ’Chaser’ on the award-winning ITV quiz show, The Chase.

Whether headlining all of the UK’s major comedy clubs – or taking his glitteringly reviewed full-length shows to the Edinburgh Fringe – Paul’s versatility has also seen him perform in such diverse cities as Tokyo, Johannesburg and Mumbai.
In 2024, Paul published his acclaimed memoir, One Sinha Lifetime.
Editor of Meat Management magazine Gwen Mostyn commented: “We are all very excited that Paul will headline at this year’s MM Meat Industry Awards.
“Naturally, he is very well known via TV’s The Chase and Beat The Chasers, but he is also a very funny person, and we are sure to have a few laughs when he takes to the stage.”
