BDCI fundraising events for 2014

A lunch taking place at Butchers’ Hall on Tuesday 18th March will mark the official handover from BDCI past festival chairman, Richard Canvin, to his successor, Norman Hatcliff.

Norman, who is managing director of the multi-temperature warehousing and logistics business Norish Limited, already has a number of fundraising activities planned and is keen to make this the best fundraising year ever.

Clay Pigeon Shoot, Wednesday 9th April
The first event is a full day of Clay Pigeon Shooting at Bisley Shooting Ground in Brookwood, Surrey.

The shooting day is priced at £275 per gun or £1,000 for a team of four, which includes a two course lunch with an auction and prize giving to follow.

Gala Dinner, Friday 27th June
An evening of food and wine is planned for the summer, with a six course Gala Dinner taking place at Butchers’ Hall in London. Specially selected wines have been chosen to match each course and guests will also enjoy music by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Tickets for the black tie event are priced at £110 per head or £1,000 per table of 10.

Golf Day, Wednesday 17th September
The Cheale family has once again, very kindly allowed the BDCI to host its annual Golf Day at Surrey Downs Golf Club in Kingsdown Surrey. Playing Stapleford rules, the maximum handicap this year will be 24 in four balls. Prizes will be given for ‘Nearest the Pin’, ‘Longest Drive’, ‘Best Score of the Day’ and ‘Best Team’.

The Golf Day is priced at £100 per person, or £350 for a team of four.

Annual Festival Dinner, Friday 31st October
The Festival Dinner will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Entertainment will be provided by actress, comedian and ventriloquist, Nina Conti and soul and blues cover band TNT Soul Explosion.

Tickets for Annual Festival Dinner are priced at £160 per person (which includes automatic entry into the prize draw to win a car) and will go on sale later in the year.

Norman said: “I’m confident that we have put together a very exciting, inclusive programme of activities and events for the year ahead. I hope it will appeal to as many people as possible and that 2014 will be a great fund raising year. After all, this is our own meat industry charity and it is up to us to ensure it continues to thrive.”
