Become a Liveryman or a member of the Young Butchers’ Club with the WCB

The Worshipful Company of Butchers is inviting people working in the meat and related industries to a special event on the 9th March to find out more about becoming a Liveryman or joining its Young Butchers’ Club.

The newly refurbished Butchers’ Hall will play host to the event.

The event will be attended by a number of existing Liverymen who will be on hand to share their experiences and answer any questions about the Company, the joining process and the activities the Livery are involved in across education, charity, as well as sports and social events.

Master, Tim Dumenil, commented: “This event is aimed at potential new members and will introduce the Company to those who may wish to join the fellowship of our 1,000-year-old institution. It’s important to let people know that the WCB is open to all. We also hope these events will remove any ‘mystery’ that may surround Livery Companies.”

The ‘Meet The Master’ New Members’ Evening will take place at the Butchers’ Hall, close to London’s famous Smithfield Market on Monday 9th March from 6pm to 8pm.

Liveryman, John Allton Jones, said: “We want to share our Livery and explain the benefits of joining. I am confident it will be another enjoyable occasion. Refreshments will be provided, as well as the opportunity to tour the Hall.”

To register your interest in the event, contact to Geraldine Cavener, assistant to the clerk at Geraldine@butchershall.com or telephone 020 3931 8350.
