Cranswick Gourmet Bacon was selected as the winner from a shortlist of six companies. Ethical auditor Mandy Howarth, who nominated the company, said Cranswick had: “No non-compliances, only one observation and 10 good examples.” Howarth continued by saying: “They are a very well-organised and well-managed site.”

Anna Cummings, HR manager for Cranswick, said: “We are incredibly proud to have received this award. It is testament to all our employees’ and the management team’s commitment to ethical trading.  We continually strive to make Cranswick Gourmet Bacon a ‘great place to work’ so it’s fantastic to receive external recognition for this.”

The team at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon of Sherburn-in Elmet, Leeds, was awarded the trophy by Verner Wheelock managing director, Alison Wheelock, who said: “We have audited Cranswick Gourmet Bacon for a number of years and have been really impressed with the improvements they have made during that time.
