Eversfield Organic takes over The Well Hung Meat Company

Family-run organic farm, Eversfield Organic, is acquiring organic meat business, The Well Hung Meat Company, in a bid to position itself in the top three organic box delivery businesses nationwide.

By joining forces, the two businesses will extend their offering of organic meat and other organic produce, thereby providing a better service to customers.

Following the acquisition, founding director of The Well Hung Meat Company, Geoff Sayers, will become a non-executive director of Eversfield Organic.

Commenting on the acquisition, Mark Bury, founder and director of Eversfield Organic, said: “The increased scale of the consolidated business will give us the strength and breadth within the industry, ensuring we can continue to innovate and provide great organic meat and produce to as many people as possible.

“The organic market is a challenging arena for producers to survive in financially, however the economies of scale this acquisition brings will help drive profitability.”

Sayers added: “Mark and I both share the same view that the best meat comes from happy, naturally reared animals from traditional breeds.

“It is, therefore, an entirely logical move for the two companies to become one.”

Eversfield Organic produce is sent fresh and not pre-frozen, with the meat being butchered on the day of despatch, arriving at the customer’s door the following day.

It is still ‘well hung’ as the beef is hung for a minimum of 21 days with premium rib joints and so forth hanging for up to 35 days.

Looking at existing customers of The Well Hung Meat Company, the takeover will offer them a wider range of produce, as well as more delivery options.
