Food sector leadership initiative extends deadline

The Emerging Leaders training and mentoring programme has extended its deadline by four weeks to allow people working for charities and not-for-profit organisations in the food supply chain more time to apply.

Run by Eden Search & Select, the programme offers an industry professional within agritech, fresh produce and/or food manufacturing a fund of up to £3,000 towards their leadership development in the industry. The winner of the Emerging Leaders programme will also be able to use the funding to pay for an academic qualification, a vocational course, or a research project.

The chosen applicant will also have the opportunity for four one-hour mentoring sessions with industry sector specialists (founders, CEOs, senior leaders in the industry) for coaching and advice on the next phase of their careers within the 12 months following 1st May 2022. A series of mentoring sessions are also on offer for two additional applicants.

Interested parties now have until Monday 28th February to submit project proposals to the programme’s judging panel. Applicants need to send their CV and a 500-word summary, answering the following key questions:

  • What are the challenges you would like to solve within the industry?
  • What training / development would you need to achieve this?
  • Why will this make a difference to you and the industry in the longer term?

More information about the programme and how to apply can be found here.
