IFFA now scheduled for May 2022

The IFFA 2022 show in Frankfurt has confirmed its open dates as 14th through to 19th May. The major event, which is the world’s largest meat trade show will also feature alternative proteins next year.

IFFA is the largest meat industry trade fair in the world.

Exhibition organisers explain that there is an increasing trend for food companies and manufacturers around the world to invest in products based on alternative proteins, such as plant based etc.

Demands on quality, sensory properties and quantity will increasingly call for complex solutions in regard to the production process and the ingredients required. IFFA’s organisers and partners say the show is taking account of this growing sector.

With the new subtitle, ‘Technology for Meat and Alternative Proteins’, IFFA 2022 is set to be the world’s leading trade fair next year not only for the processing, packaging and sale of meat, but also for alternative protein products.

Wolfgang Marzin, president and chief executive officer of Messe Frankfurt, said: “IFFA 2022 will open a new chapter and present on equal terms alternative proteins in addition to its traditional focus on meat. And, by doing so, it will live up to its reputation as the leading platform for the sector, which covers the entire process from the product idea, via ingredients, to processing and packaging and facilitates know-how transfer.

“Besides the participation of experienced technology suppliers from the meat industry, we are looking forward to welcoming many new companies that want to present their innovations in the field of protein-based alternatives to an international audience of trade visitors.”

Online panel discussions will also be taking place with experts discussing a variety of subjects relevant to the meat industry live.

Companies interested in booking stand space and who register by 31st March 2021 can take advantage of an early-booking rate: iffa.com/registration.
