The Minister of State for Agriculture David Heath MP will be joining the major trade organisations and meat industry retailers, manufacturers, processors and suppliers all supporting the UK's only dedicated meat exhibition, MEATUP, at the NEC, which runs over the two days of 2nd-3rd July.Visitors to MEATUP will have access to over 120 exhibitors and show partners and also be able to see four national competitions taking place as well as a number of product demonstrations and tastings on various stands.

The Minister will be visiting the show on July 2nd and Meat Management editor, Pam Brook, commented: "As 2013 has presented huge challenges to the UK industry a forum such as MEATUP is really important for people to communicate and work together for the good of the industry and show it off at its best. MEATUP is endorsed by all the major trade organisations including EBLEX, BPEX, British Meat Processors Association, the NFU, The Meat Training Council, PTF, IMTA, Quality Meat Scotland, Meat Promotion Wales and the Livestock Commission for Northern Ireland, and having representatives there together will be a real boost to the UK meat business. We look forward to welcoming as many visitors from both the meat and wider food sectors across the two days."

The show also comes at a time when CAP negotiations are still ongoing, there still appears to be no definitive answer to where the horse meat scandal stemmed from and issues around the efficacy of the FSA still remain.

* Full details of what is on across the two days of MEATUP 2013 can be found at www.meatup.co.uk. On the second day of the MEATUP show, 3rd July, the Livestock Event and the UK AD Biogas exhibitions will also be taking place at the NEC.
