Major General Jeff Mason MBE has decided to retire from The Clerk's position at The Worshipful Company of Butchers.
By mutual agreement with the WCB, he left his post on 30th November and now plans to concentrate on his significant charity work and to have more quality time with his family.
In a statement The WCB Master Chris Wood commented: “Everyone at WCB is hugely grateful for Jeff's significant and unparalleled contribution to the life of the Butchers' Company over the last nine years.
“Leading the hugely successful and significant refurbishment of the Hall into a state of the art, modern venue in the City of London, as well as managing most effectively the extremely difficult issues connected with Covid and its many after effects, have been two of the most challenging aspects of his period as CEO.
“Members of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Butchers and Past Masters join me in thanking Jeff for his contribution and unstinting effort.”
