Meat Awards dinner heading for over 400 guests

All roads lead to the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Wednesday evening 4th June when the UK meat industry comes together to celebrate excellence.

The Meat Management Industry Awards will host around 400 guests and present 16 Awards to the best in the industry across a range of categories. In addition, the EBLEX Award for England’s Best Burger will be presented on the night.

This year product entries achieved another record with over 600 products entered for evaluation. Chief judge Keith Fisher confirmed that: “Once again the bar has been raised and we saw some truly outstanding products from some great producers and retailers”. Editor of Meat Management Pamela Brook added: “It really is so encouraging to see so many superb products being supplied and I was very impressed with the high standard this year”.

A very few tables now remain at the black tie dinner on 4th June and the Awards Dinner organiser Sharon Yandell has urged companies and individuals to book without delay so as not to be disappointed: “Our Awards event is not just one of the most enjoyable annual fixtures in the meat industry calendar but a great networking opportunity for the industry too. We are really looking forward to another great night and everyone can expect a very warm welcome from the Meat Management team”.

Guest of honour at the dinner will be Sir Geoff Hurst from England’s World Cup winning side of 1966. Sir Geoff is still the only man to score a hat-trick in a world cup final and his attendance at this year’s Awards dinner could not be better timed with the 2014 World Cup kicking off in Brazil the following week.
