The BDCI is inviting applications from students undertaking a course of study which will result in a qualification related to the meat industry.

Having recently changed its status to an incorporated body, the BDCI is now in a position to provide financial support for education. As such, it will now offer funding to two students each year, providing each successful applicant with a bursary of £5,000 per annum for the period of the course of study, to be paid directly to the college or university.

Scholarships are open to applicants who are directly involved in the meat industry themselves or who have a parent or grandparent working in the industry, so long as the chosen course of study is relevant to the meat trade. Applications will be considered from those who are currently undertaking a course, as well as those who have not yet commenced their studies. Bursaries will be awarded at the charity’s discretion.

The closing date for applications for the 2015/16 academic year is 31st January 2015. Those wishing to apply should contact the BDCI in the first instance to request an application form.

The BDCI can be contacted by telephone on 01727 896 094, by email info@bdci.org.uk or by post: BDCI Scholarship Scheme, 105 St Peter’s Street, St Albans, Hertfodshire, AL1 3EJ.
