Director of operations at the Food Standards Agency (FSA) Junior Johnson was made an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) as part of the 2024 King’s Honours celebrations.
Johnson, who was awarded his OBE for public and voluntary service, is one of five Government officials to be recognised on this year’s list.
Defra officials who have been recognised this year include:
- Timothy Mordan, lately deputy director of innovation, productivity and science (OBE)
- Amira Amzour, deputy director of the Environment Bill (OBE)
- Louise Ball, head of genetic technology regulatory team (MBE)
Robert Caudwell, lately chair of the Lowland Agricultural Peat Task Force, which is facilitated by Defra, was also awarded an OBE for services for lowland peat carbon stores and food security.
Chairman of pie manufacturer and retailer Dicksons, Michael Dickson was made an MBE for services to the food industry and to the community in Tyne and Wear.
