The Institute of Meat has announced that Her Royal Highness (HRH), Anne, The Princess Royal, will be attending the organisation’s Annual Prize-giving, to be held in conjunction with The Worshipful Company of Butchers (WCB), on 21st February 2019.
The event, which rewards the achievements of apprentices as well as their employers and training providers, will be held at Painters’ Hall, London.
The Princess Royal has a long association with WCB, being admitted as an Honorary Freeman of The Company in 2003, and later becoming the Master in 2010.
Details of the Royal visit have yet to be disclosed, but chief executive of The Institute of Meat, Keith Fisher (MB.Inst.M), said in response to the news: “We’re honoured to hear that HRH the Princess Royal, past Master of WCB, plans to join us at our annual prize-giving event.
“It will mean so much to everyone attending and make the event extra special. We look forward to showing HRH how vibrant and talented our industry has become, especially with the introduction of the butchery standard apprenticeship.”
