Chilled food specialists Kerry Foods has announced its biggest trade competition, Summer of Snacking, aimed at helping retailers grow snacking sales this summer season.
The contest will run for 15 weeks for the entirety of the period, giving retailers the chance to win £150 worth of experience vouchers, announcing a winner each week.
In a bid to draw retailers’ attention to their in-store snacks offering, the competition will also encourage them to download snacking category tips to maximise sales.
According to research by Mintel, snacking is currently worth £31 billion and there has been noticed an increased figure of shoppers visits to convenience stores in the summer time.
Ian Garrett, sales director for convenience at Kerry Foods, noted: “Our internal data suggests that with the right range, promotion and merchandising, retailers could see an uplift of 8% or more in their chilled snacking sales during this key season.”
The competition has launched at the Pro Retail show in Telford, where attendees will have six chances to win over the 2 days of the show by visiting the Kerry Foods stand.
To enter the Summer of Snacking competition, retailers should visit the Kerry Foods trade website and submit their details on the competition page. They can also double their chances of winning by tweeting about their entry.
