Craft Butchers across England and Wales have found out whether they have brought home a category win at the 2024 National Craft Butchers (NCB) Product Awards.

Ringrose Butchers took home the Judges Choice award for its Lamb Marrakesh Pot.

NCB Product Awards 2024 categories were Game Product, 30 Minute meal, Traditional Black Pudding, Hot Eating Pie, Cold Eating Pie, Traditional Sausage, Innovative Sausage, Traditional Bacon and Innovative Bacon.

The judging process, which saw judges complete a blind taste-testing of all entries at Harper Adams University, found products that achieved the NCB “gold standard”. These products were then sent on to be reevaluated by head judge Stephen Derrick and industry’s Claire Holland.

This year saw the return of the ‘Judges Choice’ award, with each judge choosing their “standout product” throughout the day before unanimously choosing one winner.

The 2024 winners:

Game Product - Archer’s Butchers, with their Venison Haggis Wellington

30 Minute Meal - Muffs of Bromborough, with their Tray Bake Trilogy - Guinness Wings, S&P Ribs & Truffle Parmesan Fries

Traditional Black Pudding - Muffs of Bromborough, with their Traditional Black Pudding

Hot Eating Pie - Owen Taylor & Sons, with their Lamb & Mint Pie

Cold Eating Pie - Owen Taylor & Sons, with their Stilton Pork Pie

Traditional Sausage - Carnivore, with their Fresh Herb Sausage

Innovative Sausage - Ringrose Butchers, with their Pork & Stir-fry Vegetable Sausage

Traditional Bacon - Walter Smith Fine Foods, with their Traditional Dry Cured Short Back Bacon

Innovative Bacon - S J Bebbington Butchers, with their Maple and Cinnamon Streaky Bacon

Judges Choice - Ringrose Butchers, with their Lamb Marrakesh Pot

Representatives from NCB have conducted shop visits to announce the winners and present the trophies and certificates.
