The first few weeks of 2014 have seen some volatile lamb prices at market, according to Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales.
A new function introduced on HCC’s website will allow farmers and others in the industry to track prices achieved for both sheep and cattle at more than 80 livestock markets in Wales and England. Visitors to the website will be able to compare up to four different markets at a time.
“We have brought in this new function following demand from the users of our website,” said industry development manager Sion Aron Jones. “It is part of HCC’s drive to constantly improve our service to those involved with the red meat sector in Wales.”
The latest figures have shown some volatility in market prices in recent weeks following a period of stability before Christmas.
