Senior pig analyst Stephen Howarth, who works within the BPEX section of AHDB, has been appointed to the new position of market specialist manager in the AHDB Market Intelligence Division.
However, the promotion does not mean he is cutting links with BPEX on a day-to-day basis as he will still be responsible for AHDB/BPEX's pig market publications. In his new role he will also oversee the work of market specialists in AHDB's other livestock sectors, beginning with beef and lamb. He will take up his new role from 1st December 2012, with a phased transition over the next few months to ensure that there is no disruption to services to levy payers.
Stephen said "I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to develop the services we provide to levy payers across the livestock sectors."I'd like to reassure BPEX levy payers that they should notice no difference in the services we provide to them. In fact, my new role will help improve our understanding of how different markets for livestock products influence one another. It will also make it easier for us to take advantage of opportunities to work together on issues of interest to all livestock sectors."
