Tariq Halal said that the new stores would aim to bring halal products to more communities nationwide, as the brand celebrated the launch of its first Manchester branch in September 2025.

Founded in 1965 by Tariq Sheikh and his father, the business has evolved from a single butcher’s shop in London into one of the UK’s most recognisable halal meat suppliers, offering cuts such as Wagyu, Dry Aged Beef, and Gold Steak, alongside everyday essentials.

The company currently operates more than 30 stores and supplies halal meat to more than 300 Sainsbury’s supermarkets across the UK.

“Our target to open 100 stores and create over 1,000 jobs reflects our confidence in the halal retail market.”

Tariq Sheikh, chairman and founder of Tariq Halal Meats, commented: “The growth of the halal market in the UK has been extraordinary, and we’re proud to have been part of that journey for almost 60 years. This expansion is about more than just new stores, it’s about empowering communities, creating opportunities, and making premium halal products accessible to everyone.”

Kunal Patel, CEO of Tariq Halal Meats, added: “We’re entering an exciting new era for the business. Our target to open 100 stores and create over 1,000 jobs reflects our confidence in the halal retail market and our commitment to investing in people and places across Britain.”

The expansion will include a combination of franchise and company-owned sites, with locations planned across major cities and high demand suburban areas. The first phase of openings is expected to begin in 2026.
