Welsh Lamb will feature as the main course in a hugely successful charity event when London’s top chefs turn the tables on the UK’s leading food critics.
Action Against Hunger is staging their Too Many Critics evening at L’Anima, London’s award-winning Italian restaurant in the heart of the city run by Welsh Lamb Club chef Francesco Mazzei.
Francesco is a keen supporter of Welsh Lamb, and has given numerous cooking demonstrations on the Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales stand at the Royal Welsh Show.
“We were delighted when we heard that Francesco’s restaurant was to host this event and that he had decided that the critics should use Welsh Lamb as the main course, so we naturally leapt at the chance to support him,” said Melanie Hughes, HCC’s Market Development Officer.
“Apart from having Welsh Lamb cooked by some of the top food critics in the UK, the audience will be made up of some of London’s top chefs who appreciate the quality of our produce,” she said.
The critics donning their chef whites are Jay Rayner (The Observer and BBC1’s The One Show); Tracey Macleod (The Independent); Rose Prince (Daily Telegraph); Lisa Markwell (Independent on Sunday); Charles Campion (Evening Standard); Bill Knott (Financial Times); Zoe Williams (Sunday Telegraph); Kate Spicer and Joe Warwick (London Magazine) and Lucas Hollweg (author of Good Things to Eat).
